Hertz.com Review

Hertz is the largest worldwide airport general use car rental brand, operating from approximately 8,800 corporate and licensee locations in 150 countries, delivering quality car rental solutions to leisure and corporate customers for over 95 years.

Hertz delivers a technology-equipped fleet spread across major cities around the globe. However, the website severely underperforms its competition for finding useful information about their service, vehicles, and locations.

PROS
GPS- AND BLUETOOTH-EQUIPPED VEHICLES:
Almost all Hertz 24/7 vehicles come equipped with Hertz NeverLost® GPS systems. More than just your ordinary GPS, the NeverLost® system displays up-to-date weather forecasts and current flight status information at the push of a button in addition to street-level GPS navigation. Most cars also come with Bluetooth connectivity, which powers hands-free driving and encourages safe driving behavior.

GOOD SELECTION OF TRUCKS AND VANS:
If you need a truck, Hertz is the service for you. Hertz 24/7 has partnered up with the Lowe’s home improvement chain to offer truck and van rentals at all Lowe’s locations throughout the country. Choose from Chevy Silverado pickups to the Mercedes Sprinter line of cargo vans to haul any load. This service is particularly beneficial for movers and house renovators.

MANY DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL LOCATIONS:
Hertz 24/7 has one of the best selections of locations of any car share service. Hertz’s hourly car rental service offers a variety of luxury cars, hybrids, electric cars, and even van and truck rentals across the U.S., Europe, and Australia, and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Taking a European holiday has never been easier. Simply book a vehicle before you leave or on the in-flight WiFi and hop in the car when you arrive. There are no long-term rental agreements, just the flexibility you need to get where you need to go.

ONE-WAY RENTALS:
Need to return to a different location? Book One Way with Hertz 24/7. Just drop off your Hertz 24/7 vehicle at over 35 participating locations across the U.S. without having to return to the same location you picked it up from. This is a great feature if your plans tend to change. Traveling to the airport? You can pick up a Hertz 24/7 vehicle at your local Hertz location for less than the cost of a cab. Forget expensive limo and taxi services; Hertz 24/7 is a great way to get to the airport without rushing to catch a bus, train, or taxi.

CONS
HOURLY RATES ONLY:
If you need a car for a day or two, Hertz 24/7’s hourly rates may end up being more expensive than, say, a company like Zipcar where you can pay by the day. If you’re looking for a short-term rental, this shouldn’t be a problem, but if you need a car for more than a few hours, it’s worth it to take the time to do the math and figure out if a different company will be more affordable for you.
