Stradivarius was developed in 1994 as a family owned business with an innovative concept in fashion in Barcelona, Spain. However, Stradivarius joined the Inditex Group in 1999 and, currently, the brand is present in 62 countries with 925 stores all over the world.
Stradivarius is a cool, reasonably priced high-street brand for young women selling clothing as well as accessories like bags, hats, scarves, belts, shoes, socks and jewelry. It’s not quite as cheap as H&M, but the quality is much better. While Stradivarius has a few locations in Madrid, the Gran Vía store is bigger and more centrally located than the others. The store is spread over two floors on Madrid’s main shopping street. Stradivarius is part of Spain’s large Inditex clothing group, along with commercial cousins Zara, Bershka and Oysho. As it happens, I bought my favorite jacket ever at Stradivarius.
