Australia currently has a shortage of skilled workers. Therefore, the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) has put in place a wide range of visa options under the General Skilled Migration (GSM) Program to fill the gap in the Australian workforce.
What does this mean for you? If your occupation is in demand in Australia, you meet the requirements, and apply correctly; you and your family could receive your Australian Visas and start living, working and studying ‘down under’.
The Australian 2012/13 budget has allocated 113,850 immigrant visas to the General Skilled Migration Program. If you receive a visa through the Skilled Migration Program you and your family will be authorized to live, work and study in Australia.
To qualify for the GSM visa you will need to meet the eligibility requirements, which includes age specifications, English language ability, and most importantly your relevant and recent work experience.
